What should I be prioritizing for my health?

Katy has 4 priorities to focus on when it comes to health:

Getting enough rest

This may seem like a no-brainer, but it can be a lot harder than we realize! Between work life and family life, sometimes it doesn’t feel like there are enough hours in the day to get it all done. By setting a specific time to hit the lights, you’ll ensure you’re getting enough sleep to then crush your workouts and all the responsibilities you have during the day.

Drinking plenty of water

Most people do not get nearly as much water as they need each day. Aim to hit 1 gallon per day to keep yourself hydrated and feeling good. Not only will upping your water intake help with your workouts but your digestion as well!

Eating foods that make you feel good

When you prioritize whole foods, you’ll not only have more energy, but you’ll feel great. Less bloating, clearer skin and weight loss are some of the benefits of keeping your meals clean and healthy.

Being Active

Even if you’re not in the middle of a challenge, keeping a regular workout routine is key. Maintaining a schedule of lifting 3-4 days a week will push your progress forward and help keep your energy levels up.

By prioritizing these 4 aspects of wellness, you’ll not only feel stronger in your workouts, but you’ll feel better all around!

How does the FIT by Katy community help you on your fitness journey?

When Katy started FBK, none of her friends were into fitness like she was. They were all about partying and going out, so she was alone when it came to having a support system that enjoyed working out as much as she did. The FBK community became an integral part of her fitness journey, motivating her to keep going.

Katy is proud of the FBK Community because it’s a place where you can be vulnerable and free of judgment. It’s a place to share your successes and your failures with other members who are experiencing the same things as you. It’s more than just fitness.

Members have gained lifelong friendships and sisters in the process. From connecting on infertility issues or struggles in their relationships, members lean on each other for support no matter what the topic.

Why are challenges 8 weeks long?

Ever wonder why 8 weeks? That time is the sweet spot to help your body make real changes in the gym. After 8 weeks there will be a noticeable change in your muscle definition and in your strength.

You’ll also build real habits in 8 weeks that are easy to continue long after the challenge is done. By the end of the 8 weeks, you’ll feel more confident in your nutrition and at the gym.

Why are weekly photos so important?

When you see yourself every day, it’s hard to notice changes in your body. By taking photos every day, you’ll be able to look back at your week 1 photos on week 8 and be astonished by the change.

It’s more than just a number on the scale. Some participants stay the same weight the whole 8 weeks but drop inches. By taking those measurements and photos, you’ll be able to celebrate your non-scale victories.
