
It’s finally that time of year again: sweet Springtime! The temps are getting warmer, the flowers are blooming, and the days are getting longer. Most people think of their homes or closets when it comes to Spring cleaning, at FIT by Katy we like to dust off our fitness routine, too!
Good news! Amping up your workouts doesn’t have to be complicated. A few simple changes to your everyday habits will bring a renewed sense of motivation and focus. We’re here to help you shed those winter layers with 5 easy ways to step up your Spring fitness routine!
1. GET OUTSIDE
The Springtime weather gives us more opportunities to take our workouts outdoors, allowing us to soak in some Vitamin D. Sunshine not only boosts your mood, but it can reduce stress, improve your immune system, and may even help ward off depression. Taking your workout to the great outdoors will mix up your routine, helping to keep you engaged.

2. CREATE A NEW PLAYLIST
Embrace that newfound motivation with a fresh playlist to keep you moving. Mix it up and add some of your favorites throwbacks to sing along to (*NSYNC, anyone?!). Nothing will pump you up more than one of your favorite songs popping up when you put your playlist on shuffle.
3. BRING A FRIEND
Not only is it fun to workout with a friend, but it’s automatic accountability. You’re more likely to stick to a goal or a new routine when you have someone committed to it with you. Your friend may even have some new exercise ideas that you wouldn’t have come up with on your own. Plus, you’ll work harder with a friend without even realizing it!
4. SWITCH UP YOUR TRAINING STYLE

5. START A NEW HABIT
A new season is a great time to reassess your personal goals and create a roadmap to reach them. Do you normally workout in the evening but find yourself too tired from the workday to really maximize your training? Try working out in the morning and take note of how your energy levels adjust. Maybe you want to improve your diet? Start meal prepping on Sundays so you’re ready to take on the week!
