As temperatures drop, it’s also the perfect time to give your whole fitness routine a fun, seasonal boost. Here are 5 ways you can add a little variety to your autumn routine.
1. HIT THE GREAT OUTDOORS FOR YOUR CARDIO
There’s just something about a brisk walk on a cool fall morning that really gets us energized. It’s the perfect chance to get your heart rate up and enjoy all the bright and colorful foliage that comes this time of year. If morning walks aren’t your thing, fall can be the perfect time to bust out the hiking boots and take yourself on a trail or a trek through the wilderness. Even if you’re in a warmer climate where fall isn’t a prominent season, autumn is still a great time to recommit to making the most of time out in nature, even if the temps only drop by a few degrees.
2. GET FIT AT HOME
With all the twists and turns of 2020, getting your workouts in at the gym has not always been a guarantee. But even if the gym doesn’t feel like the right choice for you at the moment, you can still keep staying fit at the top of your priority list. To turn your home into the perfect lo-fi home gym, stock up on some basic portable workout equipment, like dumbbells, resistance bands and glute bands. These items will help create a foundation for all kinds of workouts that will get you feeling your best.
3. DO ALL THE FALL THINGS
Take this time to do all the fun autumn activities you always see people post about on Instagram. Make a day of a trip out to the pumpkin patch! Hike that extra mile to see the best views on the farm, or climb that tree to get the juiciest fruit at the apple orchard. Finding little ways to get your blood pumping while enjoying festive time outdoors will help make the season as enjoyable as possible and YOU in great shape.

After you’ve picked those apples, turn them into something delicious! Summer might be over, but fall is still filled with lots of healthy fruits and vegetables packed with nutrients. We love trying new recipes this time of year, especially ones that are macro-friendly.

Pumpkins are an excellent source of carotenoids, which can help to prevent things like cancer and heart disease, as well as vitamins, iron, fiber, and potassium.
